Hours of Operation

During the School Day: Open from Homeroom through the final bell
After School: By appointment only

To request after-school access, please contact Mrs. Taub at least one day in advance.
Please note: The Commons is not available on Wednesday afternoons. On reserved days, it will close at 3:00 PM.

Occasionally, The Commons may be closed for meetings or special events. A notice will be posted on the door.

Study Skills

St. Thomas Aquinas High School is committed to ensuring that all students are given every opportunity to be successful academically. In an effort to help our students, a study skills workshop was created, and is presented to all freshmen students.

The class is presented over a two-day period and includes topics such as setting goals, becoming aware of personal learning styles, time management, tips for beating procrastination, improving concentration, listening, reading and note-taking skills, as well as how to prepare for tests. Students participated in hands-on activities and collaborated with each other in solving various "what if?" scenarios.

The attached packet was given to each student during the workshop. We encourage you to read through the packet and take every opportunity to reinforce these skills, tips and techniques with your students.

Online Databases

STA is subscribed to a number of online databases for student research. Students are given their log-in information at the beginning of the school year.

The English department has also compiled a database of literacy articles that students can reference when writing papers. It is accessible with your school email address and password.
