Celebrating Character: STA Student-Athletes Honored at GMC Sportsmanship Luncheon

The GMC Sportsmanship Luncheon is an annual tradition that recognizes what truly defines high school athletics. While competition and performance are certainly part of the experience, this event shifts the focus to something deeper. It celebrates respect, integrity, leadership, and the way student-athletes represent their teams, schools, and communities both on and off the field.

Each year, student-athletes, coaches, and administrators from across the Greater Middlesex Conference gather to honor individuals who exemplify these values. It is a reminder that success in athletics is not measured solely by wins and losses, but by character, accountability, and the impact athletes have on those around them.

This year, St. Thomas Aquinas High School was proudly represented by two exceptional student-athletes, Supriyha Moore and Anthony Perez Jr., who were recognized for their outstanding commitment to sportsmanship.

Supriyha Moore has distinguished herself as both a competitor and a leader. A state champion and captain in gymnastics, she has consistently demonstrated discipline, focus, and resilience. In addition to her success in gymnastics, she competes in winter and spring track, showcasing her versatility and dedication across multiple seasons. Supriyha will continue her academic and athletic journey at Felician University Track & Field, where she will compete in track and field. Known among her peers as a role model, she leads by example, carrying herself with positivity and a strong sense of responsibility in every environment.

Anthony Perez Jr. has made his mark as a leader across multiple programs at STA. A football captain, he has set the standard for accountability, work ethic, and team-first leadership. Beyond football, he has contributed to winter track and baseball, demonstrating a commitment to growth and competition year-round. Anthony will continue his football career at Kean University Football, taking the same leadership and integrity to the collegiate level. His composure, respect for the game, and dedication to his teammates have made him a standout both on and off the field.

Together, Supriyha and Anthony represent the very best of what it means to be a Trojan. Their recognition at the GMC Sportsmanship Luncheon reflects not only their individual character, but also the values that define the One Trojan Family.
