Affinity Federal Credit Union Hosts STA Financial Reality Fair

Junior and senior students at St. Thomas Aquinas High School recently participated in the STA Financial Reality Fair hosted by Affinity Federal Credit Union. The interactive program gave students the opportunity to experience real-life financial decision-making through hands-on budgeting activities and realistic financial scenarios designed to better prepare them for life after high school.

During the program, students were presented with realistic life scenarios that challenged them to manage budgets, balance expenses and make informed financial choices related to housing, transportation, savings, insurance and everyday living costs. The hands-on experience allowed students to better understand the responsibilities that come with financial independence and adulthood.

Experiences like the Financial Reality Fair reflect STA’s commitment to preparing students not only academically, but also for success beyond the classroom. By exposing students to practical financial literacy skills early on, STA continues to equip students with the knowledge and confidence needed for their futures.

The school is also excited to expand these opportunities beginning in fall 2026 through the continued growth of its Business Academic Pathway and enhanced elective offerings. As part of this initiative, STA will introduce a new on-campus Financial Lab sponsored by Affinity Federal Credit Union. The lab will provide students with additional hands-on learning opportunities focused on financial literacy, business principles and real-world career readiness.

Through partnerships like these, STA continues to connect classroom learning with meaningful life experiences while helping students build the skills necessary for college, careers and beyond.
