At St. Thomas Aquinas High School, we believe in illuminating the gifts of truth, faith, love, and friendship through service to others. In celebration of Read Across America Week, our students set out on service trips to inspire young readers at St. Joseph Grammar School in Carteret, The Learning Experience in Bridgewater, and The Learning Experience in Warren.
One of the highlights of the week was our visit to The Learning Experience in Bridgewater, where alumna Stephanie Kearney ‘13 welcomed our students with open arms. It was a full-circle moment as she shared how her experiences at STA instilled in her a lifelong love of learning, one she now passes on to her young students.
Through engaging read-alouds, interactive storytelling, and themed activities, our students brought the magic of books to life, fostering a love of literacy in the next generation. Whether it was sharing a classic Dr. Seuss tale, leading discussions about favorite stories, or simply witnessing the joy on a child’s face as they turned the pages, these moments reinforced the power of reading and the importance of service.
By stepping outside our classrooms and into the lives of younger students, our own students lived out the spirit of One Trojan Family, proving that education extends beyond textbooks, building connections, sharing wisdom, and lifting others up. Aquinas Excellence shines brightest when we serve with wisdom and love.
