With a spirit of gratitude and generosity, STA students and staff made a difference for over 270 local families by volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul’s Food Pantry just before Thanksgiving. On Monday, November 25, a group of 15 students, accompanied by Mrs. Fucci, Father Keyes, and Mr. Falconer, spent the day giving back to the community by volunteering at the food pantry. Their mission was to help distribute food to local families in need, ensuring they had everything necessary for a Thanksgiving meal.

According to Mr. Jerry Yaros, the director of the food pantry, this year’s event was one of the largest they’ve ever seen, with over 270 families receiving food. The students and faculty worked tirelessly throughout the day, organizing, packing, and distributing bags of groceries. Their efforts brought smiles to many faces and a sense of relief to those who might not have had the means to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner otherwise.

Volunteering at the food pantry offered a powerful experience for our students and faculty, highlighting the importance of community service and gratitude. It was a reminder of how fortunate we are to have the essentials we often take for granted, and it underscored STA’s ongoing commitment to serving others with compassion and kindness.

This meaningful day not only impacted those who received food but also deeply touched the hearts of everyone involved, reinforcing the values that are at the core of St. Thomas Aquinas High School’s mission.
