This morning, members of the St. Thomas Aquinas High School community gathered for a heartfelt 9/11 prayer service led by Campus Ministry, Student Council, and the Select Choir under the direction of Mr. Joseph Cullinan ’02. The service was a time of reflection and remembrance for the nearly 3,000 lives lost on that tragic day 23 years ago, including three members of our own community: Mark Carney, Class of '78; Patrick Dunn, Class of '80; and Colleen Meehan, Class of '93.
The service included readings by Student Council members and music performed by the Select Choir, creating a solemn yet hopeful atmosphere. The focus was not only on the tragedy of the events of September 11, 2001, but also on the enduring legacy of resilience, unity, and hope that followed in its wake. As a school, we remember the strength of the human spirit and the importance of coming together in the face of adversity.
By leading the school community in this annual tradition, our students exemplified the values of compassion, leadership, and faith that St. Thomas Aquinas High School holds dear. The prayer service serves as a reminder that, even in the face of great tragedy, we can find strength in our shared commitment to community and service.
