Over 275 grammar school students converged on the St. Thomas Aquinas High School theater for a command performance of the murderously funny musical Little Shop of Horrors.

Rehearsals, set construction, lighting and sound design, and costuming have been under way since late September, but audiences would be forgiven for believing that the process took much longer. The first impressions of the show by the grammar school students and teachers were universally positive: “Not just good, it was great!”, “Amazing!”, “I loved it!”, and “I’m coming back for every show!” were just some of the reviews given as our grammar school guests left for the day.

In addition to seeing a full performance of the show, students were also a chance to “talk back” to the cast and crew with questions and thoughts about the show. On their way out, cast members posed for photos with the visitors and greeted members of their own former schools.

The STA production of Little Shop of Horrors is truly a must-see event, and it is only on stage one weekend: November 18, 19, and 20. Some tickets are still available at the door so if you don’t have a ticket yet, arrive early to get a seat!
