Mallari and O'Leary Named GMC Scholar-Athletes
Posted on 05/07/2021
Congratulations to Melanie Mallari and Sean O'Leary, the St. Thomas Aquinas High School recipients of the Greater Middlesex County Scholar Athlete Awards!

Melanie has been an A student for all four years. She is the President of the Christian Social Action Club, a Peer Leader, and a member of National Honor Society. She is a talented soccer and basketball player and she has always been a devoted and loyal team member. The expectations that she sets for herself, although lofty, will lead her to becoming successful in the future. She is a perfect example of how to maintain a balance between academic and athletic success without sacrificing either one. We were so lucky to have Melanie as part of the STA family. Melanie plans on going onto college and majoring in nursing.

Sean finishes his high school career with a 4.5 GPA and with four years as a starter in soccer and as a member of the swim team. Sean is a Peer Leader and a member of the National Honor Society. From his first days upon enrolling at STA, he has grown into a true leader and he understands what it means to commit to excellence. He is a perfect example of how to maintain balance between academics and athletic success without sacrificing either one. We here at STA were lucky to have Sean as part of our programs. He will be attending Stevens Institute of Technology to major in Quantitative Finance.
