Sports Highlights for February 7

While you wait for kickoff of the big game, let's take a look at the first couple weeks of "season 2" featuring basketball and bowling:⁠

The boys basketball team moved on up to the GMC White Division this season and is currently 2-1 with wins over JFK 90-39 and Edison 82-39. Their loss to Life Center Academy 85-88 came after a hard-fought game that resulted in a buzzer-beater three-point shot by Jaquan Harris to tie the game at 75. Harris leads the team this season averaging 22 points per game while Tristian Jeffries leads the team in rebounds at 8 per game.⁠

The girls basketball team is 3-1 this season with an almost completely new bench, having defeated Piscataway 69-29, Edison 70-45, and South Brunswick 66-44. Akyia Baker leads the team this season with an average 19.5 points per game.⁠

The boys bowling team has started off the season with a 3-2 run, with three wins against J.P. Stevens. High scorer for the team so far is Donovan Rivera with a 204.⁠

And the girls bowling team is off to a 1-4 start with a division win against Mother Seton. Alex Sardis leads the team in points, with a high set of 233.
