Nico Tricoles '23 Earns Eagle
Posted on 02/27/2023
Congratulations to Nico Tricoles, Class of 2023, who has passed his Eagle Scout Review Board to become the most recent Eagle Scout of Troop 97, Sayreville.

As part of the process of earning Eagle, he was tasked with planning and completing a community service project. Inspired by a camp that he had visited with his family for many years, Kiddie Keep Well Camp, a non-profit organization in Menlo Park, he decided to build a 5-foot by 12-foot firewood rack. The firewood sold assists in raising money for the organization, which in part provides services for special needs children. With the help of fellow Boy Scouts, including a few STA members such as Fr. Mike Tabernero, Najee Lovejoy '23, and Israel Bey '23, the project took three days to complete. Upon seeing the finished product, the camp commissioner was "blown away."

Nico is proud of the project that he and fellow troop members completed. He says that it was a lot of work and took a lot of time to plan and complete but he never doubted that he would finish because, "I'm not a quitter."
