STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Math) students recently visited iFly, an indoor skydiving experience, for some thrills and a lesson in aerodynamics.

The trip began with a presentation about wind tunnels and how they are used to test cars and planes. Students then suited up to experience the tube themselves, with two flights each, lasting a minute with an instructor guiding them. The skydiving tube experience is meant to simulate the part in-between the jump and the landing of real skydiving.

Later the adrenaline-filled experience, students completed lab to calculate what their terminal velocity in the tube.
