The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is a standardized exam required for admission to many Catholic high schools, including those within the Diocese of Metuchen. Because students may take the HSPT only once, preparation is an important part of the admissions process.
To help students perform at their highest potential, St. Thomas Aquinas High School offers a comprehensive Summer HSPT Prep Course designed to strengthen academic skills, build confidence, and provide valuable test-taking strategies.
Course Details
Dates: August 10-14, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily
Location: St. Thomas Aquinas High School, 1 Tingley Lane, Edison, NJ
Cost: $250
The course includes:

Four days of focused instruction

Expert teaching from STA faculty members in Mathematics and Language Arts

HSPT preparation workbook and materials

Official electronic HSPT examination on Friday, August 14

Test-taking strategies and practice exercises covering all sections of the exam
Who Can Attend?
Students entering 8th grade for the 2026-2027 school year who are interested in preparing for the HSPT and exploring admission opportunities at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Early Acceptance Opportunity
Students enrolled in the Summer HSPT Prep Course will have the opportunity to take the official HSPT exam on Friday, August 14, 2026.
Students who submit their Application for Admission to the Class of 2031 by August 14, 2026, will receive an early admissions decision by the end of August.
This opportunity is ideal for students who have identified St. Thomas Aquinas High School as a top-choice high school and would like to begin the admissions process early.
