Advanced Placement (AP®)

Challenge Yourself. Prepare for What’s Next.
Advanced Placement (AP®) courses give students the opportunity to experience college-level academics while still in high school. Through rigorous coursework, students strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, writing and time-management skills that help prepare them for the expectations of college.
Strong performance on AP® exams may also allow students to earn college credit, satisfy introductory course requirements or qualify for advanced placement, depending on the policies of the college or university they attend. Beyond potential credit, AP® coursework demonstrates a student’s willingness to take on academic challenges and can strengthen the overall college application.
At STA, AP® courses are part of a broader commitment to helping students build confidence, explore their interests and enter college prepared to succeed.
