Canvas (Parents)
St. Thomas Aquinas High School utilizes Canvas, a Learning Management System (LMS) that allows teachers to post assignments, share announcements, administer quizzes and tests, and more.
Parents have the ability to monitor their child's assignments and course updates with a parent Canvas account that links with their child's. Therefore, for security reasons, we ask parents not to use their child's login information to access Canvas.
Creating a Parent Canvas account is a two-step process that consists of:
- A Parent/Guardian creating an account. Click Here for Video Guide
- Visit stahs.instructure.com and click on Parent of a Canvas User? Note that in some cases you may only be able to create an account from a computer, not a phone.
- You will be asked to enter your details as well as a student pairing code, which must be obtained from your child.
- Your student obtaining a specific observer pairing code. Click Here for Video Guide
- In the navigation bar of the student’s Canvas account, click the Account link, then click the Settings link.
- Click the Pair with Observer button. It will provide a six-digit code that parents can enter on the account creation page.
Please Note: For security purposes, these pairing codes change every 5 minutes. Therefore, I cannot provide this code to you, only your child can generate it.
Once the account has been created, you will be able to access it from the website stahs.instructure.com or by downloading the Canvas Parent app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (search for our school by typing STAHS).
If you already have a Canvas Parent account and would like to link another child, please follow these steps before continuing to the instructions below.
