School Leadership

Principal–President Leadership

St. Thomas Aquinas High School operates under a Principal–President leadership structure that allows the school to focus on both academic excellence and long term growth. This structure creates clear areas of responsibility while ensuring strong collaboration between the two roles as they guide the direction and future of STA.

The Principal serves as the academic and student life leader of the school. The Principal works closely with faculty, students, and families to ensure a rigorous and engaging educational experience. Responsibilities include oversight of curriculum and instruction, academic programs, student support services, athletics, and student life. The Principal ensures that STA maintains high academic standards while fostering an environment where students can grow intellectually, socially, and personally.

The President oversees the overall advancement and sustainability of the school. Responsibilities include strategic planning, financial management, development, admissions and recruitment, alumni and community relations. The President works to strengthen partnerships, expand opportunities for students, and ensure that STA continues to grow and thrive.

Together, the President and Principal work collaboratively to support the mission and continued excellence of St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

A Message from the Principal

Dear St. Thomas Aquinas Community,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I join St. Thomas Aquinas High School as your new Principal. From my very first conversations about STA, it was clear that this school is a special place. The strong sense of community, commitment to faith, and dedication to academic excellence are evident in everything that happens here. I am honored to be part of a school that has such a proud tradition and an even brighter future ahead.

I am especially excited to join the STA community at a time of meaningful growth and opportunity. Together, we are preparing to introduce significant new initiatives that will expand the academic experience for our students. Among these is the launch of several career driven academic pathways that will provide students with deeper opportunities to explore fields such as engineering, business, health sciences, and other areas of interest. These programs are designed to connect classroom learning with real world experiences and to help our students discover their passions while developing the skills needed for success in college and beyond.

What makes St. Thomas Aquinas truly special is the balance we strive to provide for every student. We want our students to grow in their faith, find a community where they feel they belong, and engage in academics that challenge and prepare them for the future. The mission of STA is not only to educate students, but to form young men and women who will lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose.

I look forward to working alongside our talented faculty and staff, our dedicated families, and most importantly, our students. Together we will continue to build on the strong foundation that has defined St. Thomas Aquinas while embracing new opportunities that will help our school thrive for generations to come.

Thank you for welcoming me into the One Trojan family. I am excited for the journey ahead.

Sincerely,
Mr. Augustus Modla

A Message from the President

Dear St. Thomas Aquinas Community,

It is a privilege to serve as President of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and to work alongside a community that is so deeply committed to the success of our students and the future of our school. At the heart of our work is a simple but powerful goal: to reach every potential student we can and help them discover an education that is faith filled, enriching, and prepares them for everything their future may hold.

STA is more than a school. It is a place where students are encouraged to grow in their faith, challenge themselves academically, and discover the gifts and talents that will guide them throughout their lives. Our responsibility is to ensure that more families have the opportunity to experience what makes STA so special. Through thoughtful recruitment, strong partnerships, and continued investment in our programs, we are working to expand access to an STA education for students who are seeking a place where they can learn, belong, and thrive.

Equally important is our role as a partner within our broader community. Education is strongest when schools and communities work together toward a shared purpose. By building meaningful relationships with local organizations, families, and supporters, we strengthen the opportunities available to our students and contribute to the continued growth of the communities we serve. When we invest in the education of our young people, we are investing in the future of all of us.

A vital part of that future is our alumni community. The proud legacy of St. Thomas Aquinas and Bishop George Ahr High School lives through the thousands of graduates who carry Trojan pride into their families, careers, and communities. One of my priorities has been to grow and cultivate this STA and BGA alumni network so that it continues to be a vibrant part of school life. By strengthening these connections, we build a deeper sense of community, create opportunities for mentorship, and ensure that future generations of students feel the support of those who came before them.

Since arriving at STA, I have also worked with our team to create spaces where our community can gather, celebrate, and thrive. The Legacy Lounge now offers alumni a place to reconnect and enjoy events on campus. Our new gymnasium has expanded opportunities for athletics, student activities, and community events. Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, we are excited to continue this momentum with the addition of an enhanced student lounge, a new Financial Lab, and a Clinical Health Sciences Lab. These spaces will support both the daily student experience and the innovative academic pathways that are helping prepare our students for the careers and opportunities ahead.

The future of STA is bright because of the strength of this community. Together we will continue to welcome new families, support our students, celebrate our alumni, and build a school that prepares young men and women to lead lives of faith, purpose, and impact.

Thank you for your continued support of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and for being part of our One Trojan Family.

Sincerely,
Mr. Kevin Sacco
President
St. Thomas Aquinas High School
