Sports Updates for the Week of January 5

Trojan athletics has been firing on all cylinders since Christmas break, with wins across the board and the swimming and girls basketball teams remaining undefeated. Here are the Varsity highlights from the past week:

The winter track team competed at the SJTCA Winter Meet with strong races across the board and Eleni Alvarez and Lia Acosta placing 2nd and 3rd in the 3200⁠

The wrestling team won four in a row, 40-36 against West Milford, 50-15 against Middlesex, 72-6 against South River⁠, and 52-16 against Iselin Kennedy.

The boys basketball team remained 1st in the division after a win against Spotswood 89-44⁠. Quadry Adams led the team with 20 points and Samar Abdullah and Jaquan Harris both put up 15.

The girls basketball team remained undefeated after wins against South Plainfield 74-27, Woodbridge 82-25, Sayreville 74-35, and Kennedy 61-20⁠. Emma Boslet led the week with 49 points and Kelsey Ransom put up a double-double against New Brunswick.

The swimming team remains undefeated after wins against South Plainfield 102-64 and Edison 102-66.

The boys bowling team won matches against South Plainfield and Middlesex, both 3-1, with the high score for the week of 257 coming from Kyle Imperial.

The girls bowling team won four in a row, shutting out Middlesex, South River, and South Plainfield, and defeating Mother Seton 3-1. The high score for the week was from Alexandra Sardis with a 200.
