Eight Students First to Earn Global Seal of Biliteracy
Posted on 05/01/2020
We'd like to take a moment to recognize an important accomplishment that some of our students earned last year and that they would have been recognized for this past week. Last year, St. Thomas Aquinas High School began offering the Global Seal of Biliteracy, an international credential that uses national language standards to identify students with exceptional second language skills. Students who earn this seal on their transcript must be able to demonstrate high-level ability in a second language through a third-party, human-assessed speaking, writing, reading, and listening exam.

Pictured here is the first group of students to earn the Global Seal of Biliteracy at STA. They are third-year Italian students Nicole Stadtmiller, Amanda Markert, Gianna Mauro, Alyssa DeJianne, Ryan Gluchowski, Kaylee Phillips, Devlin Stein, and Shandell Almanzar with Italian teacher and World Languages Supervisor Mike Kowalczyk. Please join us in "congratulazioni!" for these trailblazing students.
